Wine Tasting Night

Wine Tasting Night at South’s An Evening of Wine & Fine Dining Join us on Thursday 8 October at 7pm for an exceptional selection of wines, carefully curated by Simon Tyrrell, and paired with a five-course menu created by Chef Jose Vega. Simon Tyrrell is the Kildare-based winemaker. He has a degree in winemaking from Plumpton College in East Sussex, and has been making wine in the Rhône valley for 10 years now. More recently, with several colleagues in Ireland, he bought three hectares of vines in the southern Rhône. Simon will guide us through his handpicked wines and share stories from his time in the Côtes du Rhône. Our chef José Vega brings his signature style of Irish produce with French technique to the evening, creating a refined five course menu designed to complement Simon Tyrrell’s wine selections. Each course has been carefully considered and will be perfectly paired with a wine chosen by Simon, bringing together seasonal Irish ingredients, classic French influences and beautifully balanced flavours. The five course menu includes: Pumpkin Tortellini with charred feta, red onion and chervil Steamed Cod with curried mussels and carrots Beef Faux Filet Façon Rossini with brioche, spinach, foie gras and Madeira jus Chocolate & Orange Fondant Milleens with confit pears and French toast The evening begins with Gougères with Parmesan and chives.
